So it's been raining all afternoon and evening here in Tampa.  What are little doggies to do about "personal matters" in such foul weather?

Lucky for my 3, we threw them in the car and drove them several miles to a highway overpass so they could walk back and forth under the expressway and take care of those "personal matters" .  Now everyone is eating their dinner and chewing happily on bully sticks!

Photo is of Ch'ami and Dana on the inside looking out, at the pouring rain.

No funny photos of messy dogs, wet dogs, maybe just one of me being stressed out , ‘cause I cannot get them out to do their business.

Oh no, these Basenji's of ours stay inside. Even when I do what they like best, take them for a drive in the car and go walk somewhere exciting, they do what they have to do as quick as possible, and Ch'ami is very vocal.  He screams at me "GO BACK TO THE CAR SILLY WOMAN, THE RAIN MAKES ME WET"

Heh,heh,heh... now photos of the dogs doing something in the rain would be rare photos, indeed!!!   Maybe I can get a shot of Tess's face when she has to go out and pee in the rain. The indignity of it all!  I swear she would levitate above the wet grass if she could.  Our basenjis most definitely do NOT do wet weather J.

TURTLE

Speaking of pee, I rescued a huge pond turtle today from the road and in response it peed on me; it must have peed out a gallon of water!! I've never seen anything like it. Either it was releasing ballast in the hope of fleeing or this is some warped defense mechanism. There was almost more pee than turtle.  Geesh, I was only trying to help.

We came home early from NJ agility in pouring rain, with lakes around jumps, & say, how does one get past the mud to get into the ring. At 8 am, Occhi & M both actually did compete in Open FAST. M did some good work & then planted her feed on high ground next to the judge, in show pose.

Occhi ran well, & actually did the 3 obstacles gamble & needed one 9 point jump for enough points to qualify, & that jump was in a lake. He stopped right at the jump, looked at me. I said, "Occhi JUMP it." The buzzer sounded - mille second too late, he did jump it. Splash!

Ooops – afterwards, this from Donna Hess:

FYI, That site typically floods and turns into a mud pit during a rainy weekend. We do a lot of obedience shows there.

They are clever little Bs, especially when it is raining.  I had one old girl that waited for 20 hours before I carried her out and stood in the rain while she went and had a piddle under the eaves, where it was relatively dry.  Being still on the dry side, we have not had too many experiences of standing in the rain, but I have stooped to the low of providing an umbrella for her highness, so that the dissolving stuff doesn’t hit her too much.
