Hey Susan,

This is great stuff you’re putting in the Wrinkler. I like the Stuff, Stuff, Stuff… with some good links and the Round Robin Training Conversation is really great as we all need tips or you just may have a “yeah, that’s what do too”! The site is simple to use too.

To think back that a lot of the years there was no Internet and we just did what we felt was right and it worked. Do you know in all the 17-1/2 years (1975-1992) I had my first B I never met or talked to another Basenji owner other than the person who owned Nipper’s mother and that was 1-2 times. That dog was really great!

Thanks for the “Getting Buddy” article too! I wanted people to see how it looks and what they do there.  Karen and Chuck are special people………..DAN SAILOR

Re: West Side Story

Hi Susan...

My “West Side Story” does look wonderful in your newsletter.  Thank you for publishing it.  In fact, I enjoyed the whole Wrinkler.  You sure do work hard on it.  Bless you for being a worker bee!.....………………..DONNA MINER

Dear Susan,

Violet and I are enjoying the latest issue of the RVW.

Thanks to the cover photo, we're now craving a banana split.

There are so many wonderful stories in this issue ... Donna Miner's beautifully written story had me crying in a way I haven't in a long time, I'm anxiously awaiting the next segment of Dr. Jo's exciting story of the Lukuru Project, and Buddy finding his forever home with Dan Sailor had me grinning from ear to ear - the photo of them embracing is the best!

Kudos for yet another outstanding issue, Susan!...........RHODA JOHNSON-BYRNE

Great newsletter.

The photos are a joy. I think basenjis make such wonderful subjects. There might be a few basenjis the camera does not love, but only a very few………PEGGY PICK

Hi Susan

Thanks for your email about Corona’s hearing issues. Yes, I find that, as long as I'm close enough, Corona will respond if I clap my hands and flap my arms against my sides so it's not hope-less.

Congratulations on the new version of the Wrinkler. It looks terrific & I can open it all without difficulty…..YVONNE MORANT

We saw Dana in the new Wrinkler, and proud we are!!! I love the Wrinkler online for the beautiful colorful images, what a joy that is!

Brings the world’s Basenjis closer….YVONNE ‘T MANNETJE

Love it!  I really like how the Round Robin turned out.

Looking forward to the next one………………………LISA VOSS

ANGIE LABELLE/by MAREESA NICOSIA, The Saratogian

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Ninety-one-year-old Angie LaBelle has been working out at 6 Care Lane several times a week, ever since she had open-heart surgery in 1999. She’s about to have company.

As a cardiac rehabilitation patient, LaBelle was one of the few people who were able to continue working out there after the owner, Saratoga Cardiology Associates, closed its exercise facility in December. But this month a new exercise facility that owners describe as smaller but improved is open for business.

Saratoga Cardiology Associates management had cited in a letter that “continuing reimbursement challenges to our medical practice” was the reason for the closure, despite petitions from nearly 200 members to keep it open. “The center closed with at least the intention to try to figure out another way or venue to try to bring the facility back,” principal cardiologist Dr. Roland T. Phillips said Tuesday.

Nine months later, a solution has been put into place — architects built a second floor to take advantage of underutilized space that once had cathedral-style ceilings. Now the two-story building features a walkway joining the cardiology offices to a new, more compact Wellness Center on the second floor. It features a panoramic view of the Care Lane complex and a special section for patients in the cardiac rehabilitation program, who need close supervision while exercising.

Meanwhile, LaBelle, who was declared legally blind a few years ago, intends to keep up her work on the treadmill. “I just feel better when I am doing my exercise,” she said.
