New Titles & Kudos:

The Hatch September to Remember trophy for 2017 was won by basenji Liner, DC Apu i Liner SGRC with a bunch of additional titles. He was undefeated with a field of 9 basenjis both days! Congratulations to breeder-owner Susan Kamen Marsicano!

Liner also now has about half of his LCX.

DC Apu i Liner RN SC CA TKN FCh SGRC2 ORC JOR VB.

The Stewart's Bolt is ALREADY very close to his LCX. GCH DC Meisterhaus Days of Thunder SC TKA CGC THDN GEOD Td PD DSA ATD FCH VBX.

Karen Christensen's Rose won a major her first day ever lure coursing, and won her second major with a BOB. She also got her CA title - Apu Keeping Up Appearances JC.

Susan Marsicano's Fern got some more QQs, and MACH points, + bore with going racing & lure coursing for weeks. "Weeks," she says. CH MACH Apu Painted Sand RA MXB2 MJG MXF T2B THD CL3 RS-N JV-E GV-N SC TKN FCh SGRC ORC SOR CGC TDIA VBE.

The Grewe's AJ, Naadir Ali Baba ti-n Abou Teka, AJ is "Internat. Sandbahn Champion 2017"

To get the Title "International Sandbahn Champion" the dog must be entered at special race meets. There are 6 dates at special race meets available where the dog can be entered and depending on the placements he can earn points.

We missed the first race for AJ, entered him in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th race where he always won first place. At the Hünstetten race it was a special race with 4 extra points given. The race in Kleindöttingen was in Switzerland, therefore he also got 1 extra point.

After these 3 races he had so many points that no other Basenjis could beat him. No need for us to drive long kilometers to enter him at race meets, but we still had to drive to Eilenburg, which was a long way, to get his title, as it was only given if one were there in person.

Karen Christensen's Rip won his first lure coursing major and now has 11 points + his SC. He got his ORT in Clove and Anise.

Heather Cruzate's Jingle girl showed her heart out at the Westbury Kennel Club in Long Island alongside a great group of basenjis and exhibitors. Jingle won Best of Breed 3 shows in a row under breed judges Joseph Gregory, Molly Martin and Marilyn O'Neill and an OH Group 2 placing under judge Denise Flaim.

Brenda Phillips reports: "Makindu kids have had a great summer."

Rebecca Stuart's "Makena" completed 3 titles this summer: Makindu Makena Talayeh CA RATN RN.

Jan McWilliams's "Flynn" completed his AKC Field Championship in July - FC Makindu Kiss The Sky SC.

Both Flynn and "Oberon" Makindu's Next Man Up won their classes at the large EBC Specialty show.

Nike was a big winner at the WVBC Specialty - 1st AOM from the Vet class and best Veteran in Sweeps, and now a Master Versatility Basenji having completed his LCX.

My Zippie has made me very proud over and over, completing her FC in July, making her Rally and Racing debut in August, then at the BCOA National Specialty completing her Rally Novice title and placing 3rd and 4th in the two racing events, the highest scoring non-champion earning 5 points in each! The little girl also competed brilliantly in novice Agility (I have not yet taught weave poles so this was an NQ performance), and won her class in the African Exhibition. Mostly I was pleased how she took all the travel in stride and made many new friends.

Chris Maxka reports: Our puppy, Crackers, winning Best of Breed over his Westminster BOB daddy, Chui, and 4 other specials, for a 5 point major in Harrisburg, PA, 3 wks ago. Our respected judge, John P Wade, was a last minute substitute, and what a pleasant surprise! Crackers is SunDiata's Sunlight on the Kuto, sired by GChB SunDiata's Winter Solstice Sun, out of Ch. SunDiata's Oboe.

Feel Better to:
