HUDSON, N.Y. — For a third time in a week, American flags were ripped from their staffs at the Republic Civil War section of the Cedar Park Cemetery in Hudson and now city police believe they know who has been stealing them.
On Saturday alone, 15 flags were missing, bringing the total to nearly 75.
Hudson police installed three cameras in an attempt to catch the culprits and on Saturday discovered the vandal was a woodchuck.
They spent nearly an hour using a special camera searching through woodchuck holes in the cemetery and found remnants of the flags.
