As the Tail Turns

Tutsi has turned 15
by Erin Fogarty

Well, Tutsi has successfully turned 15 years of age without being arrested! A truly unbelievable feat.

She has spent the day wanting to sit wherever Ed is so that means lots of grumbling as she sits on top of him to get him to move. Poor Ed hasn't had a break all day and as The Tutsi is fairly deaf she hasn't taken a bit of notice of his grumbles.

She's had a long walk this morning and has bravely tackled a heavily frosted ground and is as sprightly as ever. I have noticed that what I presumed was a yoghurt tide-mark across her nose (from cleaning out yoghurt bottles) is actually a new line of grey hair. I shall have to cover the mirrors!

Her back is a bit creaky, her knees a bit stiff to start off with, hearing all but gone and cataracts are appearing, but to be honest, she leaves a lot of dogs half her age in her dust.

Every day we have with her now is a blessing.

Roll on Tutsi!
