
Brunch Report
16th Annual Meeting and Beat the Winter Doldrums Brunch
Chez Apu - Woodstock, New York
January 26, 2014 (good thing we had the Brunch during this January thaw!)

Present:
Signing in were Susan Kamen-Marsicano, president; Lisa Mackey, Vice President; Debby Mayer, recording secretary and sunshine secretary; Karen Sahulka, Treasurer; Board Members Karen Christensen and Natalie Culver (And Hannah); club members Frey Johnsson, Lottie Hotaling; Kim Petrella (and daughter Madison); and guest and facebook member, Malley Bragg Heinlein.
The meeting was called to order at 12:30 p.m.
Treasurer’s Report:
Treasurer Karen Sahulka submitted a report: The club is solvent, with about $3,000 in the bank.
2013 charitable donations: to the Basenji Health Endowment, Medfly Basenji Rescue, North Shore LIJ Cancer Institute (re: Kaila Harlan and also we sent some spending money to Kaila).

President’s Report:
The group observed a moment of silence in memory of Kaila.
Memberships: 83 family, 11 honorary members, 10 newsletter exchanges and 152 Facebook members.
The online Wrinkler and the RVW web page cost a total of $20 for the year. Read the Wrinkler!
Reminder of embroidered club gear—contact Suzy Zeh or 1 888 828-5445. Embroidered gear is always in the Stuff section of the Wrinkler. Members ARE encouraged to join the club on Facebook. Most are already there, & enjoying it.
Match Show
Sunday, June 22 was considered, but not finalized.
The group discussed possible locations, including Kim’s in Wappinger’s Falls, a race meet in New Jersey, or Lottie’s in Pine Plains. Lottie and Kim were appointed as a Match Show Location Subcommittee.
Costume class will be “What animal would I be if I weren’t a dog?” Approved by acclamation.
Raffle prizes: 4 West Coast stuffed basenjis and perhaps Basenji BOOKS & magazines. The books & magazines may be raffled next year. These were gifted to our club by member Kathe Romeo. Thanks, Kathe.
New Business
New donations: Approved by acclamation were donations of $500 to Medfly Basenji Rescue (led by Karen Jones) in Acton, CA, and $250 to the Rabies Challenge Fund.
There being no further business, Mayer moved, and Culver seconded, for adjournment at 1:15 p.m.
