I am still at my desk.  I decided before shutting down to click on the link. http://www.rvwbasenjiclub.org/Contest.05.13.html

What an assortment of stories! Proud to see mine among them.  You did a lovely job with the photos!

Yours is the very best story, tho, and I'm not just sayin' that.  The international storyline and then back to good old New York where you started, etc.  Terrific read!! (Ed: She means The Story of Apu)

I loved visiting Florence.……………LISA MARSHALL

DENNIS ALLEN TO DEBBY MAYER

Hi,

I finished your book and it was great until the last two pages. I lost it over Cooper, I was with Batsy when he had to be put down and it killed me. The minute I read about you and Cooper at the vet I could not read the rest thru the tears... The book shows perfectly what a disorganized mess the hospital system is and how the doctors don't seem to really feel your pain or concerns. Or even answer the damn questions in a timely fashion. Thank you for the book, I have kept most of it secret from Tamara so she can read it all without me spoiling it. Oh and Gloria says hi to hers sister LuLu.

DEBBY MAYER TO DENNIS ALLEN

Thank you, Dennis, but remember what our two friends said (I think it's in the book): One wrote, But he can see again, and think what he can see! The other one, writing of Dan and Cooper, said, The celestial boulevard has never seen anything like those two.

I love the idea of a book review in the Wrinkler! And Dennis, I'm interested in getting this book to chaplains, and hospice workers and hospital personnel. If you have any ideas, please let me know.

Susan,

Another great issue.  Love all the color photos of the Basenjis.  Really like the day bed with the quilt on it.  Do you know where they got it?

 Thanks……………………...............…….BARB KUNZE

Obike & Harry & I say, how did she get so big??? 6mth physical last week. 12lbs 4oz & 23" long. Oh my, what a big baby! Almost caught up in ht/wt to where a 6mth old should be. Pediatrician did a double take when he checked her growth record & saw she started 2lbs 12oz.

I think in comparison to same age (not premie) baby friends she's probably doing ~4 mth old stuff developmentally, but Harry & I don't know the difference so are not worried Shes doing A LOT of new stuff last 2wks, like teething & eating solids. I do have a hard time not calling teething rings chew toys, Harry reminds me dogs have chew toys, the baby has teething toys. Obike says same difference. ...............................................NATALIE CULVER

That. Is. The. Best. Wrinkler. Ever.

Seriously, the "my first basenji" stories are now my all time favorite.  And Raven says she liked seeing herself, too. But she's not biased or anything. — at Paradise, Nevada.

Tamara Allen Yup -- what the good doc said -- times two .

I agree that this edition was very special. It was really nice to hear from Ray and Denise - and sorry to hear of Tango's and Dottie's passings. Feels like those show days were just yesterday. Warm feelings of the dogs who have come and gone, but never to be forgotten.

Great informational articles. I enjoyed the first basenji stories. Wished I had taken time to get my story together, but It just means I will try harder for the next contest!

Beautiful work on the Krinkler!!!! Thank you!

"Spinosads are found in Trifexis, a monthly heartworm/flea preventive, as well as Comfortis for flea prevention.

While I believe these are effective for flea prevention and killing, spinosads are contraindicated in epileptic or seizure prone dogs and should not be given to these dogs.

Unfortunately, this is generally unknown and should be shared with your veterinarian, friends and family."

Hi Susan. I have only used Interceptor (till about a year ago) and Heartgard (this last year), I am now wondering if Benji's seizures are because of these preventatives.

What do you think?...........................................HEPI ARMEN

Hi from Migz Parkes.

Thanks for sharing this. I was very interested in Dr Dodds’ information about heartworm and flea treatment.

She mentions 2 products that are unsuitable for dogs who have epilepsy or seizures. I did not know about this and I have a basenji with epilepsy, so I will be sure to avoid the treatments that she mentioned. Important info! Ta.
